one morning in the crisp of December, I looked out my bedroom window and saw snow…lots of it! It was falling BIG flakes and blanketed our entire front yard. I could not contain my excitement. My ista pulled me out of my crib, and I ran down the hallway, arms spread wide, yelling “mommie, mommie, it’s snowing, it’s christmastime, look, look!” .. I ran to the front window (which is just the right height for me to look out of) and stared at the falling snow. It amazed me for hours :-) Everything was so bright and white, even the green trees turned white. It didn’t take long for me to demand getting my snowsuit on, and luckily for me, ista and mommie were already making their morning coffees. I put on my snowsuit that was given to me by my g’s sue and masha, my croc boots from tota and my hat and gloves. I had a smile from ear to ear, and couldn’t stop babbling about what I was going to do once I got outside. And, even though I had a scary experience with a snowman last year, I was willing to give it another try. Mommie came outside with me, and we got right to building a snow man – he was just as tall as me by the time we finished, but not as handsome – his arms were a little skinny and he had no teeth. Then, I learned what snowballs were, and I liked them, and I really liked throwing them at mommie. When I got bored of that, I threw them up in the air…most of the time that was fun, sometimes, it wasn’t, especially when the snowballs connected with my face. Even though it was snowy and hard to run in, I had to get in a little game of winter soccer – you just can’t keep me from my sports! I marvelled at the big footprints I made in the fresh snow, and kept asking “mommie, what’s this?” sometimes, we found other tracks, like deer, squirrels, birds and rabbits and they were just as interesting….ista mentioned something about ‘rabbit stew’ but I was busy following the tracks into the woods. When the snowplow came, I screamed with delight… It was a huge truck and pushed all the snow into the driveway that ista and mommie had just finished clearing, and again, ista said something about stew – I think, or maybe she said something else?
