on a cool summer evening my ista came home from a week away at work, and I was so happy to see her! the next morning my mommie and ista said we were leaving the house early for a carride, nothing unusual for us, so I was wondering why they kept whispering and giggling. About a half an hour into my DVD, mommie said “we’re here, get your shoes on” I looked around and saw fields of corn, and then I saw it…a TRACTOR, a green one, a big one, with bubbies [editor’s note : tires], with really big bubbies!! I was so excited I forgot my shoes and hat, but ista brought them for me and made me put them on while mommie paid the way in. Once we got in the gate I looked around again, ducks, horses, tractors, trucks in the sand, a train ride, other kids..I didn’t know where to start!! Mommie said my face was flushed with excitement, but I think it was the sun. Ista made sure we didn’t miss the first train ride (cause you know I was going to ride it as many times as I was allowed), and we jumped on with tons of other kids to BOB pulling our train and telling us all about the crops. I didn’t listen, but I did point out what crop names I knew. The girls in front of me kept looking at me and giggling, they had hats on and were older, but I thought they were cute anyways. At the end of the ride, I didn’t want to get off, but mommie told me we could do it again after we looked at some animals. Ista took me to the goats, and she helped me feed them a styrofoam cup. Apparently, you’re supposed to feed them what’s in the cup, but the goats kept eating the cup instead of what’s inside. I squealed everytime their tongues touched me. I saw ducks and reindeer, and cows and ostrich and sheep and pigs and bunnies and they had this great barn that had tractors of all sizes and colors…I think this might have been my favorite place of all. I reminded mommie about the train ride, and suddenly we were sprinting to the other end of the park, I guess we were late. When we got there, noone was at the gate… I was going to cry when I saw Bob coming down to the train. Wouldn’t you know we got to ride the train all to ourselves…I was even happier than the first time. At the back of the park there were so many slides and wooden trucks and trains and tractors that I went inside and explored. It was a really fun park and I hope to go there again. When we left, I was really tired and didn’t really put up a fuss – I wanted my milk and a comfy chair. I slept. When I woke up, instead of being home we were at an ELK farm! Ista and mommie had driven to an elk farm where there were a 130 elk on 100 acres with a family that raises and sells them. We bought pepperettes and sausages which I really like. My day was full and I don’t even remember going to bed, but I know I did, cause the morning came and I was in my room.

Fisher, one day I’ll take you to the Thompson River Ferry ride, and maybe the captain will let you “drive” the boat for a minute like they did for me 12 years ago.
